Note: Boxes are delivered with the bag included in the box, not separately!

Advantages:

• They are used for collecting infectious waste that does not include sharp objects.
• They are yellow in color.
• They are lined inside with yellow polyethylene bags.
• The height of the bag must exceed the height of the box, allowing the bag to fold over the upper edge of the box, and the excess must allow for closure.
• The thickness of the polyethylene from which the bag is made is between 50 – 70 μ.
• Both the boxes and the bags inside must be marked and labeled in Romanian with the following:

-Type of waste collected: “INFECTIOUS WASTE – CODE 18.01.03*”;

-Pictogram: "Biological Hazard";

-Container capacity: “liters” and “kg”;

-Usage instructions;

-Maximum fill line;

-Date of commencement of use of the container in the section;

-Health unit;

-Section that used the container;

-Person responsible for handling them;

-Date of final filling;

-Marking according to United Nations (UN) standards in accordance with the European Agreement concerning the international transport of dangerous goods by road (ADR).

• Infectious waste includes waste that contains or has come into contact with blood or other biological fluids, as well as with viruses, bacteria, parasites, and/or toxins from microorganisms, products containing blood or other biological fluids, surgical fields, gloves, and other disposable materials, compresses, dressings, and other contaminated materials, dialysis membranes, plastic bags for urine collection, used laboratory materials, and diapers from patients admitted to health facilities with specific infectious diseases or in infectious disease sections of health facilities.

USAGE CONDITIONS FOR PACKAGING

• Before use, form the box according to the instructions printed clearly on the side and insert the corresponding bag into the box.
• After filling, close the box securely and use the handles on the top to transport the box to the collection point. It is mandatory to follow the usage instructions inscribed on the box!
• The person responsible for marketing the packaging must inform the user of the legal provisions regarding the use of this packaging for transporting dangerous goods.
• The personnel responsible for using these packages must be adequately trained and verified for the tasks involved in this activity.

REFERENCE LEGISLATION

• Order of the Ministry of Health No. 1226/2012 – Technical norms regarding the management of waste resulting from medical activities;
• Government Decision No. 856/2002, with subsequent modifications and completions, regarding types of waste including hazardous waste;
• Government Decision No. 1061/2008 – Regarding the transport of hazardous and non-hazardous waste on the territory of Romania;
• ADR Code/2019 European Agreement concerning the transport of dangerous goods by road, to which Romania has adhered through Law No. 31/1994.

Important! According to WHO 1226/2012 in conjunction with ADR/2017 Volume II, the boxes and corresponding bags are permanently and legibly marked and labeled in Romanian, with markings according to United Nations (UN) standards in accordance with ADR, with the following indications:

• The words “BIOLOGICAL HAZARD” in uppercase;
• The words “INFECTIOUS WASTE” in uppercase;
• The words “DISPOSABLE PACKAGE” in uppercase;
• The words “DESTROY ONCE WITH CONTENT” in uppercase;
• A horizontal line indicating the maximum fill limit corresponding to the useful capacity, and the words “DO NOT FILL ABOVE THE LINE” in uppercase.
